What started as one man's unwavering belief that every child deserves a chance to shine has grown into one of the most respected names in education in Nsawam and beyond. This is the story of how a small seed, planted in faith and watered with dedication, became a beacon of hope for hundreds of families.

2005

A Vision Is Born

Mr. Abednego Asani, driven by a deep passion for education and a burden for the children in his community, founded Royal Stars International School. With humble beginnings — a few classrooms, a handful of dedicated teachers, and an enormous dream — the school opened its doors to its first cohort of eager young learners. The name "Royal Stars" was no accident; it was a declaration that every child who walked through those gates carried royalty and brilliance within them.

2008

Growing Roots

Word spread quickly through Nsawam and surrounding communities. Parents who had lost hope in overcrowded, under-resourced schools found a home at Royal Stars. The school expanded its classrooms, brought on more qualified teachers, and introduced extracurricular programs in sports, creative arts, and ICT. Enrollment steadily climbed, and the school began to earn a reputation as a place where children didn't just learn — they thrived.

2012

First BECE Candidates

A defining milestone — Royal Stars presented its very first batch of students for the Basic Education Certificate Examination. The nerves, the prayers, the late-night revision sessions all paid off as the school recorded impressive results. From that year forward, Royal Stars would produce BECE candidates annually, each batch building on the legacy of the one before it. The school had arrived on the national academic stage.

2016

A Rising Reputation

By its eleventh year, Royal Stars had become synonymous with discipline, academic rigour, and holistic development. The school introduced structured reading programs, inter-school quiz competitions, and community outreach initiatives. Students were not only excelling in exams but also developing the confidence, character, and values that parents deeply valued. Royal Stars was no longer just a school — it was a movement.

2020

The Storm That Could Not Break Us

The COVID-19 pandemic struck the world with devastating force, and Ghana was not spared. Schools were shut overnight, livelihoods were disrupted, and the future felt uncertain. Royal Stars faced one of its greatest tests — not of academics, but of survival. Staff salaries had to be sustained, facilities maintained, and students kept engaged through remote learning. It was a season that demanded extraordinary resilience, and the Royal Stars family — staff, parents, and students — rallied together with unwavering faith and solidarity to weather the storm.

2022

The Comeback

As the world gradually reopened, Royal Stars bounced back with renewed energy and purpose. The school invested in facility upgrades, strengthened its teaching staff, and introduced enhanced BECE preparation programs. The resilience forged during the pandemic became the school's greatest asset — a living testimony that setbacks are merely setups for comebacks. Students returned with a hunger to learn, and teachers poured their hearts into every lesson.

2024

Number One in Nsawam

The moment that crowned years of tireless effort — Royal Stars was ranked 1st for the best BECE results in the entire Nsawam municipality. The news was met with jubilation from parents, teachers, students, and the wider community. It was validation of Mr. Asani's original dream, the teachers' relentless dedication, and every student who dared to believe. The little school that started with a prayer and a handful of children in 2005 had become a powerhouse of academic excellence.
